    The Beaumier Upper Peninsula Heritage Center is a historical museum and educational facility on the campus of Northern Michigan University. The mission of the U.P. Heritage Center is to promote and preserve the history and culture of the Upper Peninsula through an active slate of exhibitions and engaging public programs for the whole region. The center also collects and preserves artifacts related to the history of Northern Michigan University. The center maintains a gallery in Gries Hall and several other displays throughout campus. The Heritage Center is part of Academic Affairs and has partnerships with several other departments. It provides interdisciplinary programs and internships for students across the university spectrum.

    The Hiawatha Music Non-Profit Corporation is organized exclusively to provide and promote traditional music and dance, educate and inform society on traditional American music and encourage the appreciation of such music through the facility of an annual traditional music festival. All operations are exclusively for charitable and educational purposes, and for the promotion of social welfare.

    The Iron County Historical Museum is one of the largest museums in the U.P.  It is home to 26 Buildings holding more than 100 Exhibits and 2 Art Galleries. Some of the most popular exhibits include: Lee LeBlanc Memorial Art Gallery featuring the largest collection of original artwork by nationally-decorated artist, Lee Leblanc. Home of “Mother of America,” Carrie Jacobs-Bond, who was the first great woman composer in the United States. Toti’s Tavern built in 1912 with a working taproom used for Museum events and rentals. Pioneer Schoolhouse where visitors can sit in 125 year old desks and browse a variety of books from every era of US history. Stager Depot, the first railway station of Iron County featuring train and aviation history. Giovanelli Art Gallery, the home of a local artist who treated his home like a canvas with breath-taking murals on the ceilings and walls as well as many original paintings, sculptures and stained glass. The Iron County museum is open for self-guided tours May-October.

Committed to delivering community value, the Historic Ironwood Theatre: Maintains the Historic Ironwood Theatre building and preserves the facility for future generations. Provides a community gathering point in a magnificent historic building for plays, silent movies, music, and dance performances; Offers a forum for youth to grow through active participation in the performing arts; and, Presents meaningful experiences that expose audiences to current social topics and local history through interpretive programs and events.

    Welcome to the Marquette Regional History Center We believe the preservation of the cultural and physical history of our area brings an understanding to the past and present, and provides a guide for the future. The Marquette Regional History Center not only maintains exhibits, artifacts and a research library, it is a forum for engaging the community and creating links between people. -Our Mission The Marquette Regional History Center is a 501c3, private non-profit organization that was established in 1918.  We receive no public funding.  We rely on membership, fundraising events, donations, rentals and admission fees to continue to provide our community and visitors with high quality, educational programming and exhibits.  We invite you to learn more about the History Center.

    Amid the forested ravines of the Marquette Iron Range, the Michigan Iron Industry Museum overlooks the Carp River and the site of the first iron forge in the Lake Superior region. The Michigan Iron Industry Museum has been active in Michigan since the mid-1970s. The rich mining heritage in the region is still present today. The Michigan Iron Industry Museum allows visitors to learn about the iron industry, its impact on the iron range communities, and the large-scale capital and human investment that made Michigan an industrial leader. It overlooks the Carp River Forge historic site. The forge operated from 1848-1855 and was the first iron manufactory in the Lake Superior region. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Exhibits include audiovisual programs, outdoor interpretive paths and hands-on exhibits. Open Year Round!

    Peter White Public Library (PWPL) is located on the corner of Front and Ridge Streets near downtown Marquette, Michigan. Founded in 1871, the Peter White Public Library has served Marquette area residents for more than a century. Peter White Library is the largest public library in the fifteen counties of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. Service contracts with Chocolay, Ewing, Marquette, Sands, Skandia, Turin, Wells and West Branch Townships have added to the area that is served by PWPL. Its service population, including the City of Marquette and the nine surrounding contracted townships, has grown to over 36,000 people. The number of library card holders has increased from approximately 6,500 in 1958 to more than 22,700 today.
