TaMaMa Dance Company (TDC) was founded in 2016 by Artistic Directors Tara Middleton, Maggie Barch, and Marissa Marquardson. As a professional modern dance company, TDC ‘s goal is to create innovative movement based art and integrate it into the community that they love. TDC is constantly pushing the boundaries of traditional dance, often bringing their performances out of the theatre and into surprising and more accessible venues. Costume design and construction is also a large part of the company’s identity, and is used to create an entire visual experience. TDC has performed for a variety of community events around the Upper Peninsula, including the City of Marquette’s Halloween Spectacle and Harvestfest, the MACC Art Awards and Art Week, U.P. Art Prize Reception, and Northern Michigan University Dance Concerts.
