The City of Marquette Office of Arts and Culture serves to encourage, develop, and facilitate a rich environment of artistic, creative, and cultural activity in Marquette and acts as an umbrella organization for local arts and culture groups. The Arts Center is located in the lower level of the Peter White Public Library. In addition to providing gallery and workshop space, averages 263 visitors per day and provides services to more than 300 local artists and organizations.

The division was organized in 1992 and relocated to the renovated Peter White Public Library in 2000. In addition to being a regional center of arts and culture activities, the division provides the following services and programs: workshops, art exhibitions, community art projects, performances events, meeting space for arts organizations, an arts calendar, and coordination of national and local heritage festivals.
