The Iron County Historical Museum is one of the largest museums in the U.P. It is home to 26 Buildings holding more than 100 Exhibits and 2 Art Galleries.
Some of the most popular exhibits include:
- Lee LeBlanc Memorial Art Gallery featuring the largest collection of original artwork by nationally-decorated artist, Lee Leblanc.
- Home of “Mother of America,” Carrie Jacobs-Bond, who was the first great woman composer in the United States.
- Toti’s Tavern built in 1912 with a working taproom used for Museum events and rentals.
- Pioneer Schoolhouse where visitors can sit in 125 year old desks and browse a variety of books from every era of US history.
- Stager Depot, the first railway station of Iron County featuring train and aviation history.
- Giovanelli Art Gallery, the home of a local artist who treated his home like a canvas with breath-taking murals on the ceilings and walls as well as many original paintings, sculptures and stained glass.
The Iron County museum is open for self-guided tours May-October.
